The Springboks’ win against England in the 2019 Rugby World Cup, hosted in Japan, has inspired a number of youth who play rugby in Soweto.
“They feel like they are a part of the Springboks,” states the founder of the Soweto Rugby School Academy (SRSA), Chris Litau.
A female player added that “even if you’re black, you’re young, any race, any sex, you can become a captain.”
Some of the SRSA players were able to see the Springboks live as they paraded the streets of Soweto with the Rugby World Cup trophy in hand.
